OLD WALLING FAMILY BURIAL GROUND

The Walling Family Cemetery is landlocked, behind the houses on Miller Road, off Route 35. Access is provided by an easement at the intersection of Miller Road and Orchard Ave. The easement is overgrown and unkept. It is also known as the Miller Avenue Cemetery, covering only .009 acres.

The following information is found in the New Jersey Genealogical Magazine, Vol. 29, p 73, 1954:
The 30 gravestones in this cemetery were copied by Louis L. Blauvelt and Isaac M. Philhower on April, 28, 1938. George Washington Walling was the first police commissioner of New York City. The stone for Daniel A. Walling was missing, but reported to be removed to Fairview Cemetery.
